Our Innovation Fund is primarily focused on providing seed funding for new initiatives.  This is funding that will support your group to implement a new idea or initiative that will take your mahi to a new level, or support building your capacity and capabilities as an organisation.

The maximum you can apply for from our Innovation Fund is $30,000.

Please note that we do not fund ongoing services or programmes that are "business as usual".  However, if you are applying for support for a project or initiative that strongly aligns with our strategy, then operating costs can be included for that particular mahi.

Please read our list of what we can't fund before you make this application. 

Your application will be assessed based on:

  • The fit with our J R McKenzie Trust funding strategy.
  • The potential impact of your initiative
  • The achievability of your initiative
